Ackermann has been selected as an innovation leader among the German SMEs. The family owned company from Irlbach, Germany was awarded the TOP100-seal by Ranga Yogeshwar, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and compamedia. This year marks the 24th edition of this award. In independent process Ackermann convinced the jury particularly in the categories “Innovation Culture” and “Open Innovation”.
The US market for craft beer with its strong growth in the recent years drives demand for European Malting Barley varieties. Not currently offered by US varieties, European types possess quality characteristics which are more suitable for high quality beers.
The EU funds made available to support this development will aim at legal counsel, the registration of plant variety rights and trademarks as well as specific marketing campaigns.
